Welcome to Hofstra University!

At Hofstra, you can choose from more than 2,150 courses in more than 145 undergraduate programs in liberal arts, the sciences, engineering, business, communication and education. More than 90 percent of our full-time faculty have attained the highest degree in their field, and Hofstra is the only private university in the region with a Phi Beta Kappa chapter. With a student-faculty ratio of 14 to 1, our professors teach small classes (average size of 23 students) that emphasize interaction, critical thinking and the development of judgment.

At Hofstra, you will find the resources you need - access to the Internet, excellent library resources, state-of-the-art classrooms, and learning and laboratory facilities. You will attend classes on a campus that hosts more than 500 cultural events each year, including theater, lectures, musical performances and artistic exhibitions. Hofstra is also a registered arboretum. All this, less than 30 miles from downtown New York City and only 10 miles from some of the most beautiful beaches on the East Coast.
